Plastic queen excluder. Workers can pass through the excluder but the queens and drones cannot. Used to keep the queen from laying eggs in honey supers.
Plastic queen excluders are cheaper and much lighter than metal excluders. They cannot however be cleaned using a torch or by placing them in a solar wax melter as the plastic will melt. To clean them you can freeze them and the wax and propolis on them will become brittle and will be easier to break off when flexing the excluder.
